TAA SERVICES AND BENEFITS
  1.    Enhanced TAA Website (www.taa.org.uk) is in preparation and is aimed at creating a modern and user-friendly image with comprehensive and easy to navigate content. It will increase the value of the website and will meet the Association's potential by expanding the range of information available related to job and business opportunities, consultancy companies, and funding and resources available.
  2.    Re-designed Directory of CVs (www.taadirectory.org.uk) has been expanded to include thumbnail CVs, html and WORD CVs, search engines and a new page for job searches off internet sites.
  3.    Improved Newsletter with a new design, format and content has been renamed "Agriculture for Development" to widen readership and dissemination.
  4.     TAAF success in providing support to recent graduates has been expanded to include awards to help MSc research students. TAA needs to increase its financial support to TAAF to supplement outside grant funds. The TAAF webpage has also been redesigned and updated.
  5.     TechTalk Information Services being developed by AA International, a consultancy specialising in agricultural and rural situation assessments for developing countries, will link Directory Members to a new information exchange service.
  6.     Technical Advisors: we plan to expand the Directory to enable all TAA members to register, free of charge, as Technical Advisors who can be accessed by development agencies, media, NGOs, press and TechTalk for specific advice.
  7.     Access to British Expertise: the Agri-Business Group now has membership of British Expertise (formerly BCCB) that is available to all TAA members.
  8.     Regional Groups & Overseas Branches: regional groups are being expanded to include Wales & Midlands with emphasis on reactivating existing regional and technical groups. We continue to encourage overseas Branches in East Africa and India, and there is increased networking with members located overseas.
  9.     Land Husbandry Group is expanding its network of members through its internationally recognised work on sustainable land management.
  10.     Annual Memorial Lectures: the Ralph Melville Memorial Lecture has been supplemented by a Hugh Bunting Memorial Lecture at Reading University. These Lectures are now being promoted as high profile international public events, and we intend to have them recorded for wider dissemination.
  11.     UK Forum for Agricultural Research for Development: hosted by TAA, provides a means to foster, strengthen and optimise UK research, innovation and development services for agricultural development in developing countries.
