The Tropical Agriculture Association (TAA) is a society of professionals and trainees in tropical, mediterranean and arid-zone agriculture, and in rural development. It has the attached mission statement
Membership includes mainstream agriculturists and specialists in education, training and extension.  Has many members working in developing countries and is forming overseas groups.
Workers in such diverse disciplines as agronomy, disease and pest control, plant breeding, animal health and production, economics, engineering, forestry, land use planning, marketing, post-harvest technology, estate management, soil and water conservation, fisheries and sociology are also very welcome as members. 
Shared interest in the exchange and wider dissemination of practical information on rural development in the tropics and their interest is directed towards action. 
 
Organises conferences and workshops;   Provides travel funds for  TAAF awardees;   Publishes a Newsletter;  Provides access to sources of information;    TAA operates an On-line, freely accessible and searchable database of CVs of members who are available for consultancy or employment.
